A project with dual agricultural use
Beyond its energy dimension, the project is based on a logic of agricultural co-activity: five farmers continue their sheep farming operations directly beneath the photovoltaic modules, while cattle farming is maintained on the neighboring plots. This synergy between renewable energy production and agricultural activity helps to preserve the land's purpose, without soil artificialization, while contributing to the long-term viability of local farms.
On this project, SIREOS acts as the EPC contractor, from construction to the commissioning of the plant, and also provides operation and maintenance for the first two years following handover.

From study to commissioning
Site preparation and security
The first phase involved preparing and securing the site: creating access points, building service roads, and installing fencing. In parallel, over 20 km of trenches were excavated to route electrical networks between the plant's various pieces of equipment.

Foundations and photovoltaic structures
The photovoltaic structures were installed on driven piles, which serve as the plant's foundations. The teams then proceeded to assemble the structures and install the 226,000 photovoltaic modules.

Electrical connections
Connecting the equipment was a major part of the project. The 226,000 modules are linked to the 349 inverters by over 1,000 km of DC cables. The inverters are then connected to the 14 33 kV transformer substations via over 50 km of low-voltage AC cables. Finally, the 14 substations are connected to the HVB substation by over 20 km of high-voltage AC cables.

Control, commissioning, and operation
The final phase involved installing sensors and automated systems, as well as testing and inspecting the equipment. Today, Sireos teams are handling the power-up and commissioning of the plant. Following construction, Sireos will also provide operations and maintenance for the site for the first two years after handover.
